BITTO
Anjo Bolarda(BITTO) is a self-taught artist whose works have been exhibited in several local and international venues. He creates projects that deal with stories of people living in contemporary society. He works with spaces, time, and everyday elements through paintings, illustrations, installations, and performances. Aside from his artistic practice, Anjo is also the community founder of Behance Philippines, a platform to guide emerging artists/designers in their practice. He is also a co-director of 98B COLLABoratory, a Manila-based artist-run initiative, and space.
his work celebrates the melting pot he calls Sukiyaki-Western, blending oriental cultures, Japanese Ukiyo-e wood-block art and wakufu kimonos, low-brow graphics, comics, and tribal patterns as a universal pop language.
He works on painting, illustrations, installations, and performances.
